Next trip: Varanasi
At last! We are done with the classes and its time to go somewhere else. This time, we are traveling to one of the seven sacred cities (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism and Jainism: Varanasi.
Every year, millions of people visit the city to bath in the Ganges and wash away a lifetime of sins. In those same waters, people are burned, clothes are washed and so animals.
Varanasi, also known as Benares, Banaras or Kashi, is a city on the banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, 320 kilometres southeast of the state capital, Lucknow.
We will be there for a couple of days. I’m extremely curious to what we are going to find there. Looking forward for the local cuisine, pujas and the Ganges itself.
Hopefully, I’ll come up with a new post within next week.
